A woman’s cry

By Nthabiseng Mkhwanazi. remember the first time that I saw you.

You asked me my name, And I gave you a beautiful smile. When you asked me to be your girlfriend, I became your best friend.

When you asked me to be your wife, I became your personal assistant.

When you asked me to be the mother of your children,

Being the loving person that I am, I became your mother.

When the world looked down on you, I was proud of you,

I gave you support.

But when it was my turn to ask,

I only wanted love, respect and understanding. Instead of giving me this things you went out, Cheated on me,

Got yourself infected with HIV and brought it back to me.

You took my life away from my family and me. Then I asked myself why.

Did I love you less?

Was I not enough for you?

Now the big question is who to blame? Should I blame you, your parents, religion, culture or socialism?

WHO and WHY are the questions that have not been answered

And I still don’t know why you did it.
